Saved Games in December: Discovery Odds Are Shifting
We've got a slightly new twist for you to start the new year. First, a quick translation of the numbers. Our GistScore goes up when there are enough viewers available and those viewers are not concentrated into a tiny slice of top channels. When 60 to 70% of viewers are stuck in the top 10%, the directory is top heavy and Browse discovery is structurally harder for small channels. Save rate is different. High saves usually mean the game feels like a reliable stream, even if it is not a friendly directory.

Resident Evil 2 (GistScore 36). StreamGist data says this is one of the most top heavy directories on the list: about 70% of viewers go to the top 10% of streamers, and about 94% go to the top 50%. That leaves very little audience oxygen for the bottom half of channels, which is why the GistScore is low. So if your goal is discovery through Browse, this is a bad idea from the numbers. The reason it still resonated with a very high save rate is the content promise. Capcom’s official description frames it as a return to Raccoon City under a deadly outbreak with a gripping story and horror set pieces, which gives streamers confidence they can deliver a strong session even without discovery tailwinds.

RV There Yet? (GistScore 41). StreamGist data says the directory is still top heavy: about 65% of viewers go to the top 10%, and about 93% go to the top 50%. That is slightly better than Resident Evil 2, but it is still a tough discovery environment, which keeps the score low. The high save rate makes sense when you look at the studio’s own positioning. The official Steam description is explicitly a cooperative adventure about you and your friends trying to drive an RV home through a dangerous route, which is inherently built for communication, chaos, recoveries, and clip moments. Streamers save games like this because the entertainment loop is dependable. Just do not confuse “dependable stream” with “good directory for discovery.

Light Up The Town (GistScore 96). This is the cleanest numbers driven opportunity of the four in this late December snapshot. StreamGist data shows the distribution is meaningfully less concentrated than the first two games, with about 54% of viewers going to the top 10% and about 92% going to the top 50%, plus there are many viewers per streamer available. That combination is exactly what produces a very high discoverability score. The official description also explains why it resonated in the community at that time of year: it is a cozy holiday game about spreading cheer by decorating a winter town as Bean the ferret, which matches late December viewer mood and supports calmer, vibe aligned streams.

Trackmania (GistScore 58). This one sits in the middle. StreamGist data says it is top heavy, with about 62% of viewers going to the top 10% and about 95% going to the top 50%, and available viewers are mediocre. That caps the upside, but it is still materially better than the Resident Evil 2 and RV There Yet? profiles on score. The reason it continues to resonate is that the official ecosystem is designed for repeatable streaming formats. Ubisoft Nadeo emphasizes seasonal campaigns and daily live events, plus official and community competitions, and Trackmania’s own site highlights a new season every three months and daily track cadence. That structure rewards consistency, improvement arcs, and community challenges more than it rewards one off variety streaming.
